Across Namibia, small businesses are becoming more visible online. From hair salons in Windhoek to food vendors in Oshakati, boutiques in Swakopmund, guesthouses near Etosha, bakers in Walvis Bay, and consultants working from home, entrepreneurs use Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and WhatsApp to promote their products and services. This is encouraging. It shows creativity, ambition, and a strong desire to participate in the economy.

However, visibility is not the same as strategy.
Many small businesses are active online, but not always strategically online. In marketing terms, many focus only on the first stage of the customer journey: awareness.
They post attractive pictures, gain likes, and create visibility, but they do not always move potential customers towards interest, desire, and action.
