Sankwasa resolves Kunene salary dispute

THE Minister of Urban and Rural Development, James Sankwasa, says the salary dispute at the Kunene Regional Council has been resolved after an agreement was reached to relieve Chief Regional Officer George Kamseb of his duties and appoint an acting chief regional officer, allowing the release of funds to pay employees their outstanding June 2026 salaries.

Sankwasa, accompanied by Deputy Minister Evelyn !Nawases-Taeyele, held a closed-door meeting in Opuwo on Wednesday with the Kunene Regional Council leadership, union representatives and employees who had not received their June salaries.
