President warns against substance abuse in NDF ranks

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has warned against drug and alcohol abuse within the Namibian Defence Force (NDF), urging soldiers to uphold discipline and professionalism at all times.

The President’s remarks came at the conclusion of a seven-day familiarisation visit to military formations across the country.

The ministry of defence and veterans affairs announced on Monday that the visit, conducted from 27 June to 3 July, enabled the President, in her capacity as Commander-in-Chief of the NDF, to assess the Force’s operational readiness, infrastructure, and welfare through engagements with military personnel and inspections of facilities.
