SWAKOPMUND – Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform Ruth Masake has urged 20 beneficiaries who were allocated agricultural plots on Friday by the Swakopmund Municipality to use the land productively.
She was speaking at the official handover of the first 20 plots as part of the council’s plan to distribute 90 plots to position Swakopmund as an urban agricultural hub.

The deputy minister said allocating land alone does not mean success, as beneficiaries now have the responsibility to turn the plots into productive and sustainable agricultural enterprises.
“We do not measure the success of the programme simply by the number of plots allocated. Our real measure of success will be what happens on these plots,” she said.
