THE SWAPO Party Youth League has distanced itself from the violent scenes at the National Youth Council General Assembly in Swakopmund, saying its four accredited delegates conducted themselves with the highest level of discipline.
SPYL Secretary Ephraim Nekongo expressed deep regret over the indefinite postponement of the Assembly, which was halted on 21 June after violent disruptions left at least nine delegates injured. He described the postponement as “the second collapse of the process in less than two years”.
