Ongwediva mayoral fund restores hope

ONGWEDIVA – The Ongwediva Town Council, through its Mayoral Fund, yesterday donated construction materials worth N$20 000 to three families whose home was destroyed by a fire in March this year.

Handing over the donation, Ongwediva mayor Naemi Amuthenu said the assistance reflects one of the pillars of Namibia’s Harambee Prosperity Plan, which focuses on social progression and supporting vulnerable members of society.

“We have acknowledged the fact that economic and social classification exists in Ongwediva. We have those who cannot help themselves when disaster strikes,” she said.
