A visionary Namibian nature estate pairs off-grid living with a shared architectural vision

Windhoek, 27 July 2026. APxHouse (Apx) and Pieter Mostert Architects have entered into an exclusive collaboration for Woodlands @ Herboths, the low-density nature estate east of Windhoek.

In terms of the development framework, Pieter Mostert Architects has been appointed as the Estate Architects responsible for the architectural design of homes within the estate, and will oversee design approval on behalf of the estate’s Home Owners Association — shaping a cohesive design language across all 31 freehold erven.

The collaboration brings together two ambitions that have always defined Woodlands @ Herboths: a place where people live close to nature without compromising on comfort, and a place where what is built today still holds its value and its character for generations to come. Rather than a catalog of set house types, the estate gives each owner the freedom to design their own home, guided by a shared vision that keeps the whole estate distinctive and unique.

“Woodlands @ Herboths was never meant to be a conventional development. This collaboration gives the estate a single architectural footprint, one that protects the value of every home while leaving owners free to build the home they have always imagined. Space, light and permanence are what people are really buying here, and Pieter and his team at PMA understand that,” says LeHugo van Rooyen, CEO of APxHouse.
