NAMIBIA has called for greater global cooperation to ensure artificial intelligence (AI) becomes a tool for shared prosperity rather than a technology accessible only to a few, with Information and Communication Technology Minister Emma Theofelus emphasising the need for inclusive digital infrastructure, skills development and responsible AI governance.

Theofelus delivered Namibia’s national statement during the closing session of the United Nations Global Dialogue on AI Governance held in Geneva, Switzerland, where governments and international stakeholders discussed global cooperation on the responsible development and use of artificial intelligence.
Theofelus said Namibia recognises the transformative potential of AI but remains focused on establishing the digital foundations required for its responsible adoption.
