The Governor of the Khomas region, Sam Nujoma has called on businesses and institutions to play a more active role in supporting education by investing in school infrastructure and learning resources.

Nujoma made the appeal on Tuesday during the official handover of school furniture donated by the Namibia Fish Consumption Promotion Trust (NFCPT) to the Khomas Education Directorate, through the Office of the Governor. The donation consists of 300 chairs and 400 desks valued at approximately N$297 000.
The governor said the contribution comes at a time when the Khomas region continues to experience rapid population growth, which has placed significant strain on school infrastructure.
He noted that the region remains the fastest-growing in Namibia, as families continue to migrate to Windhoek in search of better opportunities, resulting in increasing pressure on education facilities.
