Kaulinge leaves indelible mark on tennis court

After more than three decades of service to Namibian tennis, Samson Kaulinge has stepped down as president of the Namibia Tennis Association (NTA), closing a leadership chapter that helped raise the sport’s profile locally and internationally.

Kaulinge resigned as NTA president during the association’s annual general meeting on 20 June, ending more than nine years at the helm. His journey in tennis, however, began long before he assumed national leadership.

Unlike many players who are introduced to the sport at a young age, Kaulinge only discovered tennis after completing high school while living in Swakopmund.

Inspired by the courts near his home, he bought his first racket and spent countless hours practising against a wall after work and on weekends, gradually developing his skills and passion for the game.
