Ali Akan breaks silence …distances himself from Keetaman’s corruption stench

KEETMANSHOOP – Veteran coach and //Kharas football technical director, Ali Akan, has vehemently denied any assertions linking him to corruption or improperly influencing Keetmanshoop Municipality officials to bypass procurement processes to award him tenders.

It is Akan’s fervent position that all his interactions with municipal officials were motivated by a desire to attract investment and create jobs rather than secure tenders for residents.

Akan’s name surfaced this week during a press conference by former Keetmanshoop mayor Melody Swartbooi, who alleged irregularities in tender processes and the involvement of outside individuals in municipal affairs.

Akan has since approached this publication to clear his name and set the record straight.
