LUANDA – An Angolan court last week sentenced two Russian nationals to up to 11 years behind bars for terrorism and espionage following protests that spiralled into riots and looting last year, a lawyer representing some of the accused said.
The demonstrations between 28 and 30 July, were triggered by a strike called by taxi drivers to protest against rising fuel prices in the oil-rich nation where millions live in poverty.
