/Hai-/Khaua celebrate culture

MARIENTAL – The /Hai-/Khaua Traditional Authority hosted its cultural exhibition in the southern town last weekend to give future generations a historical platform for belonging and identity.

Celebrated under the theme ‘Unity and Progress’ clan members from the Hardap and //Kharas gathered to demonstrate and showcase their culture and tradition. Items included the making of traditional Nama milk tea, slaughtering of a goat, production of household items from knitting animal skins, reciting of poems, traditional dancing and singing of cultural songs.
