Coach Paulus stuck in bed … appeals for help, wheelchair batteries dead

Local football coach and community sports figure Simson Tuhafeni Paulus has appealed for financial assistance after the batteries powering his wheelchair completely stopped working.

This leaves him stuck in bed and unable to carry out his daily activities.

Paulus, who is a former coach of the Unam Bokkies FC and currently serves as a coach at Spitting Cobras, says the situation has severely affected his independence, work and ability to remain active within his community.

Paulus relies on a powered wheelchair to move around.

However, with both batteries now completely depleted, he is unable to use the wheelchair properly.

“I am stuck in bed,” Paulus said, explaining that the failure of his wheelchair batteries has made even the simplest daily movements difficult.
