Windhoek High Court Acting Judge Petrus Unengu has sentenced a family of three and a fourth individual to varying sentences in connection with a scheme that syphoned more than N$4 million from a local company, Komatsu.
The accused include the former accountant of Komatsu, Tulihaleni Nghihalwa (38); her brother, Tulihafeni Nghihalwa (28); her cousin, Johanna Jona (32); and a fourth accused, Pauline Gaes.
Komatsu is a manufacturer and supplier of earthmoving machinery for the construction and mining industries.
Nghihalwa faced 75 fraud charges and, with her co-accused, faced other charges of money laundering, with Gaes having an additional charge of acquiring and using criminal proceeds.
