Staff Reporter NEW ZEALAND have secured Oceania’s direct qualification place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, becoming the region’s sole representative after dominating the qualifying campaign and booking their third appearance at football’s global showpiece. The Oceanian qualification process for the 2026 tournament took place between September 2024 and March 2025 and marked a historic milestone for the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC), which was granted a direct World Cup slot for the first time. New Caledonia finished as runners-up and progressed to the intercontinental play-offs, while New Zealand clinched automatic qualification.
