Third-party seller scams on legit websites leads digital fraud in 2025

A report published by TransUnion revealed that third-party seller scams on legitimate e-commerce websites accounted for over 35% of financial loss experienced by Namibians targeted by digital fraud last year.

This highlights that losses do not only occur in unsafe environments, but in credible, familiar and trusted digital spaces. The report revealed that among local consumers who reported to losing money to digital fraud last year, the median reported loss was N$7,726.
