Bank Windhoek has approved N$69 million in funding to support Andrada Mining’s strategic Ore Sorter Project at its flagship Uis Tin Mine in Namibia.

The financing comprises N$49 million in project funding and an additional N$20 million working capital facility.

The agreement was recently signed in Windhoek by Bank Windhoek managing director James Chapman and Andrada Mining CEO Anthony Viljoen.

He said the facility marks an important milestone in Andrada’s growth journey.

“We are pleased to deepen our relationship with Bank Windhoek through this long-term funding facility, which reflects confidence in Andrada’s business, the Uis Mine and our strategy to expand production in Namibia,” he added.

Viljoen said that the funding will support the development and construction of a state-of-the-art ore-sorting pre-concentration circuit, a key component of Andrada’s plan to improve operational efficiency and increase concentrate production at Uis.

He said that Andrada Mining values Bank Windhoek’s commitment to the responsible development of Namibia’s mineral resources and looks forward to working with the bank as the mine enters its next phase of growth.

Chapman said the financing demonstrates Bank Windhoek’s commitment to supporting sectors that are central to Namibia’s economic resilience and long-term growth.

“Mining remains one of the key pillars of Namibia’s economy, and responsible investment in projects of this nature can strengthen productivity, improve operational efficiency and generate wider socio-economic value. As a proudly Namibian bank, we are pleased to support Andrada Mining in advancing a project that can unlock value, support regional development and contribute meaningfully to the country’s economic progress,” he stated.

An ore sorter is used in mining operations to separate ore from waste rock before further processing.

By identifying and removing low-value material early in the production cycle, ore sorting technology can improve recovery rates, reduce energy consumption, enhance downstream processing efficiency and lower operational costs, while supporting more responsible resource utilisation.

The Uis Tin Mine is one of Namibia’s notable mining assets.

It plays a key role in supporting economic activity in the Erongo region.

Through this investment, Bank Windhoek continues to support viable projects that promote economic diversification, job creation, local enterprise development and long-term national progress.

Chapman added that Bank Windhoek’s support for the project aligns with its broader purpose of contributing to Namibia’s development by financing initiatives that create shared value for customers, communities and the economy.

“Bank Windhoek remains committed to partnering with businesses that demonstrate strong growth potential and a clear contribution to the country’s sustainable development agenda,” he remarked.
