More than 60 Namibian entrepreneurs were provided with a direct platform to showcase, sell and connect with buyers at the Standard Bank Blue Growth Series Market Access Day, held in Windhoek.
The Market Access Day forms part of the Standard Bank Blue Growth Series 2026, an entrepreneurship development programme designed to equip SMEs with the skills, networks, support and opportunities needed to build sustainable businesses.
The event provided participating entrepreneurs with a practical platform to showcase their products and services, engage potential buyers and explore new commercial opportunities.

Speaking at the event, Khomas region governor, Sam Nujoma, said the initiative addresses a critical need for practical market access opportunities for entrepreneurs.
“This Market Access Day directly answers the region’s call for the development of a fully functional market enterprise where entrepreneurs can meet real buyers. By creating opportunities for SMEs to showcase their products and services, build networks and secure business opportunities, we are strengthening entrepreneurship and contributing to sustainable economic growth in our region,” said Nujoma.
Standard Bank Namibia’s head of enterprise and direct banking, Rodney Coetzee, said while many SMEs possess the capability to grow, access to markets often remains a significant barrier.
“Many entrepreneurs have the talent, resilience and ability to create products and services that can compete in the market. However, access to buyers, supply chains and commercial opportunities remains a significant challenge. Market Access Day was designed to bridge that gap by connecting SMEs with new markets, networks and strategic partnerships that can help unlock their next stage of growth,” Coetzee stated.
Coetzee said the event reflects the Blue Growth Series’ objective of creating lasting business opportunities beyond traditional enterprise development interventions.
“At Standard Bank, we recognise that access to finance is only one part of the growth journey. Businesses also need access to markets, business development support, mentorship, technology and strategic partnerships. Through the Blue Growth Series, we are creating opportunities that help entrepreneurs grow sustainable businesses, create jobs and contribute meaningfully to Namibia’s economic development,” he added.
The Market Access Day brought together entrepreneurs from both the Blue Growth Series cohort and a broader group of SMEs selected through an open public call, expanding the reach and impact of the initiative beyond programme participants alone.
“By connecting entrepreneurs directly with buyers and support institutions, the Standard Bank Blue Growth Series continues to drive inclusive economic growth, strengthen enterprise development and create practical pathways to market for Namibian SMEs,” said Coetzee.
