SWAKOPMUND – While development is often welcomed, Karibib residents have been left with severely damaged residential roads after they were used as alternative routes during the recent national road construction project.
This is according to the town’ CEO, Tangeni Enkono.
He says the damaged roads that were originally designed to serve residents were subjected to increased traffic volumes, including trucks and abnormal loads, resulting in their deterioration.
The CEO raised the state of the towns’ roads during the consultations with the National Council Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Housing on Road Accidents in Namibia.
