Jacobie urges Namibians to reflect on progress since independence

INFORMANTÉ editor-in-chief Chris Jacobie has urged Namibians to reflect on the country’s progress since independence, arguing that the achievements of the past 36 years demonstrate the value of good governance, peace and investing trust in the younger generation.

Jacobie made the remarks during the inaugural Town Hall Conversation held at the University of Namibia’s Hage Geingob Campus in Windhoek to commemorate what would have been the late President Hage Geingob’s 85th birthday.

Reflecting on Namibia’s transition to independence, Jacobie added that many of the country’s first leaders were relatively young when they assumed office.
