Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare has called on African countries to pursue economic freedom as the continent’s next phase of liberation.
Ngurare argued that political independence alone is not enough to improve the lives of citizens.
Speaking at the United Nations Alliance of Civilisations International Summit in Luanda, Angola, last week, he said Africa must now focus on economic empowerment, value addition to natural resources, job creation and inclusive development while working collectively to promote peace and stability.
The premier said sustainable economic development could only flourish in an environment of peace, respect for international law and regional cooperation.
