A motion seeking parliamentary endorsement of Gerson Sindano as chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) has been postponed following strong objections from Affirmative Repositioning leader Job Amupanda.
The motion, which was first on Tuesday’s order paper, sought approval for president Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah to appoint Sindano as ECN chairperson alongside commissioners Emmerentia Leonard and Julieta Ferreira.
