Vietnam launches 1st national chip prototyping center

HANOI, June 26 — Vietnam’s Ministry of Science and Technology launched the Vietnam National Multi-Project Wafer Coordination Center in Hanoi on Friday, marking the country’s first national facility dedicated to supporting semiconductor chip prototyping, the Vietnam News Agency reported.

The center links domestic chip research and design with the global semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem, while strengthening technological self-reliance and Vietnam’s position in the global supply chain, according to the report.
