Lack of capital is an unspoken barrier for many startups, but Norma Uazengisa didn’t let it stop her. In 2014, she spotted a clear demand for locally made apparel and launched Modern World Designs and Manufacturing CC. Through sheer hard work, she scaled a small garment operation into a thriving factory.
Today, her business isn’t just producing top-tier Namibian uniforms and sportswear, it is actively training the next generation and creating local jobs. “I wanted to contribute to local manufacturing and create employment opportunities. Namibia has talented people who can produce quality products, and I wanted to be part of that growth,” she said.
