State advocate Maggy Shiyagaya yesterday implored the court to convict Prostasius Kuvirua for the murder of his alleged girlfriend, whom he allegedly stabbed multiple times with a knife in March 2023 at Otjiwarongo’s Telecom location.
According to the State, it has proved beyond a reasonable doubt that the accused is guilty of the charges levelled against him.
The charges levelled against Kuvirua include murder, assault by threat, malicious damage to property and defeating or attempting to defeat the course of justice.
It is alleged that the attack followed an argument after Auguste Jonas was found in her bedroom with another man.
Kuvirua allegedly chased the man away before turning on Auguste with a knife.
During the attack, Jonas reportedly fled to a neighbour’s room, but Kuvirua allegedly broke down the door and continued stabbing her.
