Agronomy output rises in Q1 as fish landings decline
Namibia recorded higher production of controlled agronomy crops during the first quarter of 2026, while total fish landings declined compared to the same period last year, according to the latest Quarterly Agriculture and Fishing Indicator Statistical Bulletin by the Namibia Statistics Agency.

Namibia recorded higher production of controlled agronomy crops during the first quarter of 2026, while total fish landings declined compared to the same period last year, according to the latest Quarterly Agriculture and Fishing Indicator Statistical Bulletin by the Namibia Statistics Agency.

The bulletin, which covers the period from January to March 2026, showed that production of controlled agronomy crops, including white maize, pearl millet and wheat, increased to 2171 tonnes from 1637 tonnes recorded in the first quarter of 2025.
Wheat accounted for the largest share of production at 1565 tonnes, followed by white maize at 597 tonnes and pearl millet at nine tonnes.
