KEETMANSHOOP – Former Keetmanshoop mayor Francis Melody Swartbooi did not hold back yesterday when spilling the beans, claiming the Landless People’s Movement’s top brass forced her into awarding a municipal project to a preferred contractor.
When she refused to give in, Swartbooi claims, the party showed her the door.
Swartbooi was speaking at a media briefing aimed at giving her side of the story.
The dispute centred around a water meter procurement tender for the town as well as plans to renovate the Homs-Ai Open Market, situated between the Tseiblaagte and Krönlein locations in Keetmanshoop.
