Prime Minister expresses strong support for Meatco’s recovery and growth strategy

NAMIBIA’s Prime Minister, Dr Elijah Ngurare, expressed strong support for the Meat Corporation of Namibia’s (Meatco) recovery and growth strategy, reaffirming Government’s commitment to strengthening Namibia’s livestock industry, expanding value addition and supporting inclusive economic growth.

During a visit to Meatco’s Windhoek Abattoir, accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform, Ruthy Masake, the Prime Minister received a comprehensive briefing on the Corporation’s operational performance, financial recovery, livestock procurement strategy and initiatives aimed at increasing processing capacity, strengthening producer participation and enhancing Namibia’s competitiveness in international beef markets.

The visit included a tour of Meatco’s production facilities, where the Prime Minister and his delegation engaged with management and employees and observed first-hand the Corporation’s processing operations and ongoing recovery initiatives.
