Namibia must deliver on behalf of the world after accepting responsibility for hosting the Global Water Partnership’s (GWP) headquarters.
This move is expected to place Windhoek at the centre of international efforts to tackle water security, climate resilience and sustainable development, President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah said.

The president made the remarks last week when she received Global Water Partnership’s (GWP) CEO Alex Simalabwi and members of the organisation’s international board at State House, where the delegation reaffirmed its commitment to making Windhoek the world’s political and diplomatic capital of water.
A new global investment facility expected to influence nearly US$15 billion (about N$270 billion) in water-related investments by 2030.
Nandi-Ndaitwah said the organisation’s headquarters belongs to the global community and carries expectations that Namibia must help fulfil.
