Analysts cautiously welcome Prime minister’s question time

Analysts have cautiously welcomed Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare’s decision to revive Prime Minister’s Question Time and establish a new engagement platform for social media and community activists.

They said the initiative could strengthen public participation in governance if it delivers tangible results rather than becoming a public relations exercise.

Ngurare announced on Monday that the government is reactivating Prime Minister’s Question Time while introducing a separate platform to facilitate direct engagement between the Prime Minister and activists across the country.

“In the interest of stakeholders engagement, we are not only reactivating Prime Minister’s Question Time but will also create a new platform specifically for various social media and or community activists, countrywide, from time to time, to meet with the Prime Minister and share their views on governance matters as outlined in NDP6,” Ngurare said.
