Glow by the Bay Empowers Youth to Champion Conservation
A new environmental initiative is set to inspire the next generation of conservation leaders when the inaugural Miss Glow by the Bay 2026 pageant takes place

A new environmental initiative is set to inspire the next generation of conservation leaders when the inaugural Miss Glow by the Bay 2026 pageant takes place at the Miss Glow by the Bay on Friday, 29 August 2026.

Founded by educator Lucia Lucas, who has more than 13 years of teaching experience, the youth-led programme is redefining the concept of pageantry by placing environmental advocacy, education and community service at its core.
Hosted in partnership with the Namibia Nature Foundation (NNF) through the IKI-CREAF Programme, and supported by the Municipality of Walvis Bay and Walvis Bay Salt, the initiative aims to raise awareness about wetland conservation while empowering young women to become environmental ambassadors.
