Newly elected President of the Association of Local Authorities in Namibia (ALAN), Naemi Amuthenu, has called for improved salaries and allowances for local authority councillors, saying fair remuneration is key to strengthening service delivery across the country.
Amuthenu, who also serves as mayor of Ongwediva, made the remarks following her election during the ALAN summit in Omaruru, where local authority leaders gathered to discuss governance, financial challenges, and service delivery priorities.
