Ndevelo reaches Commonwealth Games boxing quarter-finals

NAMIBIAN boxer Tryagain Morning Ndevelo has booked his place in the quarter-finals of the men’s 60kg division at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games after a dominant unanimous decision victory, while teammate Gebhard Iipinge exited the tournament following a narrow split-decision defeat.

Ndevelo defeated Bangladesh’s M.R. Reza 5-0 in the Round of 16, with judges unanimously awarding him the victory by scores of 30-26, 30-25, 30-25, 30-25 and 30-26.

The victory marked Ndevelo’s first bout of the Games after progressing to the Round of 16 without throwing a punch when his scheduled opening-round opponent failed to report for the contest.
