Two of six Onandjaba escapees still at large

Staff Reporter NIKODEMUS Junias and Festus Paulus, two of the six inmates who escaped from police holding cells at Onandjaba in the Omusati Region last month, are still at large, and police do not exclude the possibility of them having crossed into Angola. Two of the four escapees who have been rearrested were apprehended by the Angolan police while attempting to cross into the neighbouring country. Regional police commander Ismael Basson said that his men and women in uniform conducted a comprehensive search in Omusati and the neighbouring regions, but no trace of them was found, raising the possibility that they may have crossed into Angola.
