EENHANA – Governor Kadiva Hamutumwa says Ohangwena region made steady progress during the 2025/26 financial year.
She said it is through investments in governance, agriculture, water infrastructure, healthcare, education, housing and youth development.

However, unemployment, illegal fencing, healthcare shortages and gender-based violence continue to hamper development. In her State of the Region Address on Thursday, Hamutumwa outlined achievements and ongoing challenges across key sectors, including investment promotion, food security, social welfare, higher education, electricity, sports and regional development.
Governance and investment
The Ohangwena Regional Council continued to strengthen governance and financial accountability during the year under review after obtaining clean audit opinions for both the 2023/24 and 2024/25 financial years.
