BEIJING – China’s decision to remove tariffs on imports from qualifying African countries has handed Namibia a golden opportunity to expand exports beyond beef and other traditional products.
This was said by Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) commissioner Sam Shivute, who added that the country must act quicker to win a bigger share of the world’s second-largest economy.

Speaking to New Era on the sidelines of the Namibia-China Trade and Investment Conference and Networking Reception in Beijing this week, Shivute said it has created an important opportunity for Namibian businesses to understand the Chinese market and increase exports.
“I have always argued that one cannot benefit from what you do not know,” Shivute said.
