Namibia has been recognised as one of only 24 countries worldwide to have achieved the ambitious UNAIDS 95-95-95 HIV treatment targets.

This has placed the country among the global leaders in the fight against HIV/AIDS, demonstrating that sustained political commitment, community leadership and investment in public health continue to deliver results.

The recognition is contained in a special report released by the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) during the 25th International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2026) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The report notes that 11 countries reached the 95-95-95 targets during 2025, bringing the total number of countries to 24.
