COENRAAD Botha, a Namibian-based businessman and crypto investor, has lost an absolution from instance application he brought against Bank Windhoek, in which he sought to be absolved from continuing with the trial in which the bank sought repayment of close to a million on a N$3.3 million mortgage loan he had failed to settle.
In a separate case, Botha and his wife, Charlotte Murove, were arrested in March 2024 by the Namibian Police at the Buitepos border post between Namibia and Botswana while attempting to travel to South Africa. They faced extensive charges, including fraud, money laundering and running a N$160 million Ponzi and cryptocurrency scheme via CBI Exchange Namibia.
