The fund offers grants of between N$50 000 and N$100 000 to qualifying businesses. Besides financial support, successful applicants will also receive business coaching, advisory services and opportunities to showcase their products and services locally and internationally.

The SME Fund is part of the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises Development in Namibia (ProSME) project, a partnership between the National Planning Commission (NPC), NIPDB and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), with funding from the German government. According to a statement issued by NIPDB spokesperson Cathrine Shipushu, since applications opened on 10 June 2026, nearly 200 entrepreneurs from across the country have already applied, highlighting the strong demand for business funding. NIPDB said many promising businesses are struggling to expand because they do not have enough capital.
