The Miss Namibia Organisation has entered a new chapter, with Beulah Boois-Beukes officially taking over as national director following the departure of Umbi Karuaihe-Upi. Boois-Beukes, the head of public relations at the Namibia Broadcasting Corporation (NBC), was entrusted with responsibility during a ceremony celebrating Karuaihe-Upi’s contribution to transforming the pageant into a platform that empowers young Namibian women.
Karuaihe-Upi stepped down in February after a 36-year career at NBC and her long involvement with Miss Namibia, leaving behind a legacy of growth, international recognition and social impact.
She said her time leading the organisation was defined by a commitment to empowering young women and to showcasing Namibia on the global stage.

“Serving as the CEO and national director of the Miss Namibia Organisation has been a journey defined by an unwavering commitment to empowering young Namibian women and showcasing our beautiful country on the global stage,” she said.
Karuaihe-Upi said Miss Namibia had evolved beyond a beauty pageant and had become a platform for leadership, purpose and national development.
“We transformed the platform into a vehicle for national progress, supported by a successful application system that attracted confident, purpose-driven young women from all 14 regions of our country,” she said.
