Staff Reporter EDELWEISS has launched its first direct flight between Zurich and Windhoek, marking a significant milestone for Namibia’s aviation and tourism sectors and creating the first non-stop commercial air link between Switzerland and Namibia. The inaugural flight, operated by the Swiss leisure airline on an Airbus A350-900, landed at Hosea Kutako International Airport (HKIA) on Monday evening, 1 June 2026, carrying 285 passengers. The return flight departed for Zurich with 261 passengers on board.
