PRESIDENT Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has paid tribute to the legacy of Ombara Kahimemua Nguvauva during the commemoration of the 130th anniversary of the Battle of Otjunda in Okahandja, urging Namibians to uphold unity, reject division, and strengthen nation-building as the country reflects on its liberation history.

The commemoration, held in the Otjozondjupa Region, marked 130 years since the Battle of Otjunda (Sturmfeld), which culminated in the execution of the first Ovambanderu Chief, Ombara Kahimemua Nguvauva “Hiakungairi” on 12 June 1896.
