Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL), through its Windhoek brand, has renewed its partnership with the Namibia Rugby Union (NRU), committing N$2 million towards the Welwitschias and national teams for the 2026 season.

The sponsorship was announced in Windhoek on Tuesday, with NBL managing director Waldemar von Lieres reaffirming the company’s support despite Namibia’s failure to qualify for the 2027 Rugby World Cup.
Namibia’s absence from next year’s World Cup will be the country’s first since 1999, but NBL has opted to maintain its backing as the NRU enters what it describes as a rebuilding phase.
