Auleria Wakudumo Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) member of Parliament Ottilie Haitota is seeking urgent government intervention to address Namibia’s growing urban housing crisis. In a notice of motion scheduled for debate, Haitota called on Parliament to recommend that President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah declare the urban housing crisis a national state of emergency. “The reality is that the majority of Namibians are being locked out of the housing market while property prices continue to rise,” the motion states.
