Namibia’s senior national netball team begins its campaign at the 2026 SPAR National Netball Championships in Cape Town today, with a challenging opening fixture against defending champions Johannesburg A.
The match is scheduled for 08h00 at Stellenberg High School, where the prestigious tournament runs from 5 to 11 August.
Namibia is one of two invitational teams, alongside Botswana, competing in the Senior A division against some of South Africa’s strongest district sides. Other participating teams include Cape Town A, Mangaung A, Dr Kenneth Kaunda A, Tshwane A, eThekwini A, Nelson Mandela Bay A and Alfred Nzo.
The tournament offers Namibia an opportunity to measure itself against top opposition as the team continues to build combinations and gain valuable international match experience.
