ONGWEDIVA – Government has reclaimed more than 6 900 hectares of communal land since last year as it intensifies a nationwide crackdown on illegal fencing.
This restores grazing areas and reinforces efforts to ensure equitable access to communal land.

In a press release issued on Wednesday, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Land Reform announced that it has removed 10 illegal fences across the Kavango East, Kavango West and Omaheke regions since 2025.
In addition, two additional fence owners voluntarily dismantled their structures after engaging with authorities.
