UPDATE: An urgent application by social activist Michael Amushelelo in the High Court to declare the installation of speed humps on the Western Bypass road in the vicinity of Windhoek’s Northern Industrial Area unlawful, and not in compliance with the Road Traffic and Transport Act of 1999, and a public hazard, was dismissed by High Court Judge Gabriel Komboni. An aggrieved Amushelelo accused the judiciary of being biased in the dismissal of his application, which he said he would appeal. Amushelelo, in the application, had also sought to compel the Minister of Works and Transport and the RA to immediately, or within 24 hours after the court has issued such an order, remove the speed humps placed on the Western Bypass.
