The City of Windhoek has commenced a comprehensive citywide Streetlight Survey Project.

According to a recently released press statement, approximately N$12 million has been committed to the implementation of the project, which started on 15 July.
“This demonstrates the City of Windhoek’s continued investment in critical infrastructure and improved municipal service delivery. For the first time, the project will establish a comprehensive digital record of every municipal streetlight together with the electrical supply network serving it,” the statement read. The information from the survey will enable the City to accurately identify which streetlights are connected to specific supply points and electrical circuits, significantly improving fault tracing, maintenance planning, budgeting, network management and future infrastructure expansion.
