Four candidates interviewed for positions as Electoral Commission of Namibia commissioners have advocated for sweeping legislative reforms and logistical improvements to boost public trust. The candidates appeared before a selection committee at the National Council chambers on Wednesday as part of the recruitment process for new commissioners following the expiry of the current commission’s term. SOS Children’s Villages Namibia national director Julieta Ferreira said the commission should consider extending voting hours and increasing the number of polling stations to ease pressure on voters.
